Treatment usually includes spinal manipulation, which uses controlled force to help restore movement and function to areas of the spine that have become restricted. Dr. Swanson uses hands-on spinal manipulation or a hand-held instrument if a more gentle technique is indicated. He also utilizes various soft tissue techniques, including trigger point therapy, myofascial release and soft tissue mobilization. Therapy modalities used in the office include ultrasound, electric muscle stimulation and spinal decompression.
